Hi Michael,

May Grassroots Conference Call:
Monday, May 2
6 p.m. PT
(adjust time zones accordingly)
You’re invited to join us Monday for our May Western Regional Grassroots Conference Call!

Monday, May 2
6:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. (Pacific Time)

To dial in, simply call 1-800-704-9804. When prompted, enter 78674441# (no need to RSVP).

No doubt you’ve been hearing on the news about the budget battles in Washington, DC, but what does all of this mean for families struggling to make ends meet? What in the world does a “debt ceiling” have to do with hungry kids?

Join us for Monday’s Western Regional Bread for the World Conference Call and find out.

This month, we’ll highlight the implications for low-income families of the federal budget debate and of our 2011 Offering of Letters Campaign to make foreign assistance more effective in reducing poverty.

The call will be this Monday, May 2, from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Pacific Time, and you’re invited!

No need to register—just dial in at the right time (make sure you’ve adjusted for the time zone if necessary).

To dial in, simply call 1-800-704-9804. When prompted, enter 78674441#.

Thanks as always for what you do!

Peace and Blessings,
Matt and Robin

What is the monthly Western Regional Grassroots Conference Call?

The Western Regional Grassroots Conference Call occurs the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m. Pacific Time. It’s a great way to:

  • Hear about what other Bread members are doing around the region and exchange ideas about what works.
  • Get legislative updates on Bread’s campaigns.
  • Connect with others who are working to eliminate the conditions that allow poverty to persist.

What does Bread mean by “Western region?”
Bread’s Western region includes Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Visit our website for a full list of Bread’s regional offices.

Who should dial in?
Anyone is welcome to call in. Here are some examples of situations you might find yourself in that would make it worth your time to call in:

  • You have an upcoming Offering of Letters and need current updates about what’s happening on our campaign.
  • You’re part of a Bread for the World team or group and would like the latest information about what’s happening around the region and in Washington, DC.
  • You’re seeking ideas about how to get people in your faith community engaged in hunger advocacy and want to hear stories from people about how they were able to succeed.
  • You’re just very dedicated to Bread’s vision of a world without hunger and want to learn more and connect with other like-minded folks.

I need to make dinner. How long do these calls last?
We respect your time and will make sure the call is done in 30 minutes, though Robin and Matt will stay for 15 minutes afterward for Q&A.
