Action needed: Child Nutrition Reauthorization
Recent information reveals it is unlikely that a free-standing bill, like Senate Bill 3307, will be acted on during Congress’ Lame Duck session. The more likely scenario for passage is to include it in an omnibus bill that covers a variety of funding priorities. This is a great opportunity for child nutrition reauthorization to be passed this session while also restoring proposed cuts to SNAP.

Action:
    1.    If your Member of Congress is one of the 106 who signed a letter in August opposing SNAP cuts, thank them for their support and urge them to tell the White House to work with House leadership to pass child nutrition reauthorization without cutting SNAP benefits.
    2.    Continue to urge the White House to make child nutrition reauthorization and the restoration of SNAP cuts a high priority. You can contact the White House directly by calling 202-456-1414; emailing; or tweeting @whitehouse; or by posting a message on your Facebook page.
