Action Center Event: Judith Armatta and Norm Sepenuk on International Justice, Sept. 2

Reflections on Justice and The International Criminal Tribunal

The war crimes trials of Slobodan Milosevic and other leaders in the Balkan conflict are among the most important judicial events of the last century. Join us for a lively conversation with two prominent lawyers, Judith Armatta and Norm Sepenuk, as they discuss the complex choreography of the International Criminal Tribunal from different sides of the courtroom. Both draw from their long and involved experience with trials stemming from the wars in the former Yugoslavia.

Armatta is a journalist, human rights activist, and author of the newly released Twilight of Impunity: The War Crimes Trial of Slobodan Milosevic. She monitored and reported on Milosevic’s trial. Sepenuk, an international defense attorney, defended two men accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity, one of whom was also accused of genocide.

This evening is presented in partnership with the World Affairs Council. Copies of Armatta’s new book will be available for purchase through special arrangement with Broadway Books.

Tickets are $10 and available online through the
