Greetings!
Next Wednesday, January 11th, is both National and Oregon Human Trafficking Awareness Day.
We are bringing awareness to this overwhelming darkness in Portland on
January 11, from 7:00 to 7:30 pm
as we walk by candlelight through the Park Blocks between SW Hall and Montgomery
John 1:5
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.”
You may not know that the average age of a girl being sex-trafficked is 12 yrs old. Please consider giving 30 mins of your time to shine a light in the darkness for these children!
We will have around 150 candles so if you are assembling a large group, please feel free to bring some. If not, we’ll make what we have work by sharing. Spread the word…for more information on HT in Portland or how you can get involved, visit www.compassionconnect.com/abolitionnow or www.occv.org/human-trafficking
I would like to thank Darlene Domenigoni and other dedicated volunteers from Good Shepherd Church, and Amy at Weiden and Kennedy for donating their time and efforts to make sure that vulnerable children are not forgotten.
Additionally, the Northwest Conference Against Trafficking (and film festival!) is being held on January 13 & 14 at the Portland Convention Center. Come on down, and stop by our table on the 14th to say hello!
Walking and working with you for justice,
Emily Jameson
